Who the hell are Jonah Gold and his Silver Apples? Be forewarned, this is certainly inedible, toxic, and harmful stuff! Radioactive. Their self produced single “Thrillkillhillbillyrhythm/ Synthetic Sunshine” has already been confiscated by the police, melted down through the earth’s core, came out on the other side, and is now quite popular.
And now these four forbidden fruit are back again, unleashing on you their full length album “Pollute the airwaves”, a selection of songs that would make sweet baby jesus weep. From the introduction featuring blues punk godfather Rob Kennedy (of Workdogs and Jam Messengers fame) to the final track “I want it back”, every song is a killer and is guaranteed to blow your brains and rip out your guts! Let Jonah and his rotten apples dish the dirt about sex, murder and throbbing automobiles into your disbelieving orifices!
The album was recorded live and analogue at El Monte Studios Dortmund in one weekend, mixed by Bart El Monte (Elvis Pummel, Fuzztones etc.) and mastered by Crypt Records head honcho Tim Warren. It’s a primitive low-fi recording with minimum overdubs and maximum overdrive.
